*This is not the child safety lock issue*

So i was all excited to drive my Jeep in today, until i started it in the garage, and my drivers window would not go up (i left it down overnight), nor would the driver switch control any of the other windows.

I noticed that none of the green lights on my drivers switch are working, and the power mirrors and locks do not work from the drivers side either. But they DO work from the passenger side, and from the 3 other individual windows (and the green light are ON on the other 3 switches).

I can lock and unlock from the passenger side, and put the passenger window down, but i need to wiggle the switch and play with the buttons, or push them in hard as i flip the switch.... Its been this way since i got it, and i can usually get it to work.

Am i correct that the other 3 switches take power from the drivers side switch?

Yes, the power goes through that switch

I have the opposite problem, only my drivers switches work.

Thats the same problem everyone else has, it seems. I cant find much on my issue, other than i think both of the switches that i have have either failed, or are starting to fail.

So I pulled the switch apart and re soldered everything just in case, and no change. I have 12v at the top side of the switch in the circuit board, and if I ground my test light and probe, I can get everything to light up, but still no window actions.

With my probe on the circuit board, I can watch the light go on and off as I flip the window switches, but still no green leds, and no power to my drivers window or any other windows.

Im thinking a bad switch? It's an aftermarket China one, so at least I found that out...

I believe the switch runs a relay that has a self kill so that it doesn't keep cranking after the window is all the way up or down.

When you run the test light, you need to check the motor... not the switch.
If you get light on the motor (when you press the switch), you know the motor is dead.
If you do not get light on the motor.... you know the relay is the issue.

* I believe the kill switch is built into the relay. But that's based on Chevy logic.

Have you confirmed that the motors work?

... a step further, but not highly recommended would be to run a 12v + and - and test the motor.
Don't shock yourself or fry the motor if you do that....

All of my windows worked up until the other day, and none of the window buttons are getting power now, none of the green window buttons are illuminated. So I'm assuming it's an electrical or switch issue rather than the motors.

I should also add.............. The door locks, and the power mirrors on the drivers side dont work either, and have no LEDs on in the master switch.

Some people are saying that if the lights on the switches arent lit up, theres no power at the switch. I may need to revisit it tonight and check my grounds and such, and maybe get the passenger panel off and have a look in there too.

Well I pulled apart the driver and passenger window switches, and resoldered all the connections, and I tracked down a bad connection on a ground wire.

Now not only do all my windows work from the driver and the individual switches, but my power locks and keyless entry work! That hasn't worked since well before I got it!
