Hey all, I finally sold my 2000 Ford Explorer Sport....now I have money for Jeep Parts! I have a budget of $900 and I want to upgrade to better front and rear bumpers. I'm planning on getting a winch later on and want a tire carrier on the back. I'm a cheap SOB, so I'm trying to find bumpers that won't break my budget. I'm ok with DIY kits. So what I'm looking for is suggestions on which bumpers and where to get them. I'll build them myself if someone has plans that I can look at. Thanks for any help. [emoji2]

You might try Dirt Bound Off Road. They have a kit you weld up yourself. Saves you some $$$

Dirt bound is a good one... especially for the rear tire carrier bumper... whatever you do, even for the budget pricing don't order one through Down N Dirty Offroad (you may never get your bumper... I've been waiting on mine for over a year now...) I have a front winch bumper from Affordable Offroad... and love it... and once they finally put out a rear bumper w/ tire carrier I'll definitely plan on picking one of those up... They have awesome customer service, and answered the couple questions I had pretty quickly...

Yep, heard about the Down N Dirty Offroad times issues. I'll check out Affordable too. I'm bookmarking these places on my browser so I can shop around. Thanks!

Trust me I have bookmarked all kinds of different places for different things that I might want to shop around for deals on my XJ, or for other folks that might need some sources of good deals... Look forward to seeing what you choose to go with on your armor...

Well, I selected a rear bumper with tire carrier from Nate's 4x4. Now the hard part....waiting! I'll get the front bumper later, using remaining money for other mods.... like LED headlights and harness from K Suspension!

Got my new bumper/tire carrier from Nate's 4x4 last week. After it sat behind my work desk for a couple of days, I brought it home and started pulling the old bumper off the Cherokee.

After I pulled the bumper off, I decided to paint the rear header and lower quarters black to match the bumper.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160828/88ee03b17a7986b328e2cde1cbb8a81c.jpg
I then mocked up the bumper to make sure it all lined up. Had to wait on my JCR nut strips before I could bolt it all in.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160828/b64da0d58df58bd7c0ea1b7f021fa0af.jpg

Coming along nicely.. Trust me I know the waiting game is def the hardest part... heck.. I'm still waiting on my bumper in the first place... lol... (but went and bought similar bumper (was actually the concept bumper of the one I purchased) from a guy.. still want the one I ordered and spent good money on though... Look forward to seeing the new bumper installed..
