In 2011 I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. I immediately had surgery to have part of my left kidney removed along with the mass. Every year since I go back to MD Anderson for CT Scans and other tests. Today I went for the Dr follow up for my 5 year CT Scan results; NED! (No Evidence of Disease) At MD Anderson, when you reach your 5 year with no evidence of disease you officially become a Cancer Survivor. As a tradition, you ring the bell. Today was my turn to ring it! The entire waiting and check in area clapped. Really cool to hear the clapping to celebrate 5 years!

That's awesome Bill! A big CONGRATULATIONS!

I can't wait for my mom to ring that bell. We just celebrated her two year mark from her transplant.

Thank you for that information, Bill.
I had my entire right kidney removed with the mass, in February of this year. Although I still have all those years of tests ahead of me, I've been given a positive outcome, as my tumor was a Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma.
Good on ya mate. May you be forever rid of this evil.
Cheers.
