Hey,

It has been a busy spring holiday, we started it with a trip to the US (SF, Vegas, Grand Canyon and few more :) ) and we finished it with the traditional jeeps trip in the desert.
So, here are few pictures from our latest trip to the desert (had no Jeep in the US...)

and the most important ones, I bought a Coleman camp oven (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575094802&toolid=10001&campid=5337854637&customid=coleman-oven&icep_item=231921735210&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg) to use with my Coleman stove, that was our first try, I must say it was a huge success...

Looks like you had a fine spring holiday! Looks like you've got a good group of WJs and WKs.

What all did you do in the US? You get a chance to check out the redwoods near San Francisco? That's always been one of my favorite parts of that area.

Yes, most of my friends drive wj/wk (some of them don't, but we don't take pictures of them :D)
As for my trip to the USA, we spent a couple of days in Yosemite park, we saw the Saqouia trees there (and a lot of ther great views) but we didn't see the "redwoods" what is that exactly?

Redwood is just the common name for the different types of Sequoia trees.

Glad you were able to see some, they're one of the most impressive and favorite things I've ever seen.

To answer your question Saar, there are two species of redwoods.

Sequoia sempervirens; the coastal redwoods on the Northern California coast
Sequoia gigantia: the redwoods in the area of Yosemite and south of there.

The inland redwoods are taller, but the coastal redwoods I think used to be bigger in diameter. Most of the really big ones (8 - 12 feet in diameter) have been cut down.

Those trees are amazing and in a beautiful place. Got to quickly stop by Sequoia National Park a few years back when we were working to cali and an awesome sight. Makes ya realize how small we really are!
