It's not as bad as the news media makes it out to be, but it is much worse than I thought it would be.

My sons friend is living in a room above the garage. Lots of damage to his motorcycles and cars.

Good Luck to all.

Heard that Harris County (where Houston is) got an average rain fall of 7.25 inches of rain yesterday. That equals 280 billion gallons of water.

Another interesting tidbit I heard was that much water can run the Niagara Falls power plant for 83 days.

Watching it on TV you wouldn't think so. We had no high water at my house, but the main street to the sub was flooded.

I think some spots received 16 inches, that's tropical storm/hurricane amounts.

Good to hear your house is alright. Looked like your side of town got a lot of rain. Here in my neck of the woods we did not get a lot of rain it was all N NE and NW of me.

I was heading to work this morning, got a call that the office was closed and to work from home. I was making my way through the neighborhood and there is still high water. It's only 3 inches deep but it's still there. That part is pretty weird as high water disappears pretty quickly after the rain stops. This was a major event.

That is really something Tony. Funny thing is that if it happened here in the drought, people would be complaining about too much water in the drought

I'm glad I live on a hill, especially since we got 9-10 inches. The only real issue for me was it delayed my tires a day. :D

Sent via messenger pigeon. I talk, he types.
