Hello, all! So about a week ago I was driving back home from college on the highway, everything fine, when the check engine light comes on and the oil pressure just drops. I put 3 quarts in, and the problem went away. Sort of... At low engine temps, pressure is fine, but once it warms up to temperature the pressure drops and the temp rises. BUT, pressure only drops/temp rises below 2 grand... Any idea as to why this is? The local shop has had a quick look, and it does not appear to be the sending unit or filter...

You put 3 quarts in?? Were you 3 quarts low? If so the first step is to find out where the oil went. I bet that's the root problem.

As it turns out, the cam bearings are the cause of the low pressure. But now, there's an altogether different problem... I'm no expert, but I'm preeetty sure that you're not supposed to feel movement of the driveline through the floor...

Better start checking the motor and transmission mounts

I'm thinking that it is the trans mount, as the motor mounts were replaced with the engine about 110k miles ago. Is that something that could be done in a driveway, or would it require jacking it up?

You have to support the trans/tcase while you remove the crossmember. Not a bad job

Then I better get me some cement blocks to take care of it!

Or you could improve your bench press :D

Well, that is a possibility...

Here's a writeup on the trans mount. It's a good thing to keep in good shape anyway.

Yeah trans mount is super easy. 15 minute job unless you have stuck bolts.
