Hello XJTalk! Thank you for the warm welcomes!
I found this site through my endless research about the XJ I just bought, and I liked the way the everything was setup and generally friendly.
I'm new to the XJ, but whether good or bad, very familiar with Jeeps as a whole. I sold my last Wrangler in December, and in January I picked up a 2001 XJ Sport in silver stone metallic for $400 and drove it home. It's got rusty rockers, broken hood cable, one window doesn't work and the headline sags. In a nutshell: I freaking love it!
I sell new Jeeps for a living, so my time to build is very limited, so until I take a few days off, I'm collecting parts. I wanted a Zone Off Road lift, but stumbled across a complete RC 3" lift for under $200, still in the boxes. Couldn't pass that up, I have 265/75/16 all terrain tires, and am looking for 16" wheels with decent backspacing. I'm unable to decide on bumpers so far, but am looking to do a tan bedliner paint job, armor it completely, and have some fun wheeling and camping.
I'm sure I'll be reading a bunch of DIY posts, as I'm a tech nerd, and will probably ask a bunch of questions of you members with more knowledge than I have! Glad to be a part of XJTalk!

Welcome to xjtalk Scott! Congrats on the $400 score too. Look forward to seeing your build and the best advice I can give is buy a decent welder and get busy practicing. There's so many things you can build yourself that can well make up the cost of the tools. Good luck, and post some pics!
