I purchased this one soon after purchasing my XJ. Works well. My only complaint is that since it communicates via Wifi, if I'm connected to it I can't use the internet on my phone. I wish the Bluetooth one was iPhone compatible but since I mostly use it as a CEL code reader and code clearer, it's not that big of a deal for me. It was more annoying when I was using it to keep track of my engine temps when I didn't have a temp gauge on my dash.

There are a number of free apps that would work with it, but after downloading a few of them and finding out they didn't do exactly what I wanted them to do I purchased an app called OBD Fusion for ~$10. This app will do quite a few things; read trouble codes and clear them, log and graph any and all of the information it receives, and it even uses GPS to figure out changes in elevation, your speed, and a lot more things I'm not smart enough to figure out.

I have one that is about a third that size. I leave it connected to the OBDII port all the time. I use the Torque app on my phone. With this combo I can easily connect to my OBDII while I'm driving and get various pieces of information including scanning for codes.
