Hi all
I know that there are a lot of forums on timing the problem is that the standard computer of my XJ was taken out and a after market engine management system was installed. Now this jeep is very heavy on fuel and I just want to know is the Timing 8 or 12 degrees or if some one got a map for me thanks Cor

I think the first thing to look at is how the O2 sensor interacts with your new ECM. That is the most responsible for fuel/air ratio. But it is a shot in the dark. Which ECM do you have?

the ECM that was installed is a Dictator Standard. I dit put the XJ on a dyno but still cant get it better then 5km per liter.

20 miles per gallon is the stated highway. You should see better than 10 MPG and likely 16 to 18 mpg on a stock XJ with 4.0l engine.

FYI - 18 miles per gallon is roughly 7.5 kms per litre (or 13.2L/100km).

When my 2000 was stock, I averaged 21 mpg. But if you have a lift and larger tires, and did not re-gear the diffs, you are fighting physics.
