99 no start

My daughter reported the 99 wouldn't start. I notice a slow crank the other day so I assumed it was the battery.

I went to try it this morning and it would crank and crank but wouldn't try to start.

I remembered the TPS issue we had a year (or more) ago. I tried starting it by giving it gas. It started, ran rough and then lined out. Wouldn't hold an idle though.

After running it a couple of minutes it started idling.

I have a new IAC so since I hear this is the most common cause for bad or no idle I swapped in the other one.

With the throttle body off I did clean it with throttle body cleaner.

Blow by? Normal or not? Have not noticed any smoking.

I had the original TPS so I put that one on and it starts, idles low for 2 to 3 seconds and then idles normal.

I'm thinking I need to replace the TPS.

I agree with the TPS being wonky, replaced mine with a orielly BDS(i think) brand about 5 times and finally got one from the stealership and the issues stopped.

Not sure about the contamination in the intakemanifold

Matt said he was running the lifetime warentee BWD TPS from Oreily's. Frankly until the post above I didn't know this wasn't a dealer item!

Replaced it a few moments ago. Starting and idle is back to normal.

yup, like 36 bucks of so from oreillys with lifetime warranty.
