Just read an article that Jeep is going to have a blown 6.2L V8 option for the 2018 Grand Cherokee. Did not say what the hp or torque will be. Hope they beef up the frame. That's a lot of engine.

That's supposed to be what they are calling the Trackhawk. SRT Grand Cherokee with a Hellcat motor in it.

If it's a true Hellcat engine that's 700+ hp

You would be correct. Details are still blurry on the vehicle but it does sound like it could happen.

I remember reading something about Jeep having trouble getting the drivetrain in the Grand Cherokee to hold up to the 700hp of the Hellcat. I'm just guessing here, but I bet they sell it with a slightly detuned version of the Hellcat sort of like when using the black key in the current Hellcat Challenger/Charger but also make it fairly easy to bypass this program.

Nope, according to this I am wrong. Says they're going to borrow some 4wd components out of the Diesel Ram to beef up the driveline.

707 hp in a XJ, the frame would need extensive mods to keep it from twisting like a pretzel and at least 3/4 ton axles to make it a dependable trail rig.

I bet it will have a price tag to go with it.

My best guess would be a starting price in the $70-75,000 range.
