can i cut the link ends off and weld them back on, or would this ruin the sway bar itself? my ends are vertical and i ned them to be horizontal.

The ends of my sway bar are horizontal. I wonder if a different year sway bar is what you need.

Something is not right there. Could we get a better close up pic. I think your link may be way too long, but I can't tell for sure

I think the link is for a larger lift. You may be able to cut it... or just run without.

yes its been a learning experience changing from ifs to solid axle and not using front leaf springs. basically its a xj suspention and wj brakes and steering.

Options I would suggest ....

- Leave the swaybar off if its an offroader only.

- Have a look at aftermarket swaybar links - and see if there a vertical/horizontal option/parts.

- Get an XJ sway bar on the cheap and see if it easily fitted. Aftermarket swaybar mounts have bushes with a variety of internal diameters.

- Dont cut and weld what you have ... its a one piece unit designed for certain stresses and strains. The weld will be a weak point and most likely break. You could sleeve the join/end weld and rosebud weld it ... but only as a very temporary fix .. ;);)
