Has anyone converted a single coil obdII 4.0L to the newer style multi coil system? Can it be done???


Having 4WD means getting stuck in more inaccessible places!

Can it be done, yes. But you have to have the ECM, wiring harness and to be safe all the right sensors

Why would you want to do that? It was my impression that the coil on plug system was less desirable than the single coil+distributor system on the pre-00 XJs. Mort having trouble with misfires at high rpm?

I'm going to be swapping up to a ms3 pro mega squirt, and want to run separate coils, it is a better system when done properly, and I want to get rid of the old school distributor.
