Transfer case swap questions

My np242 to a crap last weekend so I'm going to be swapping in a np231. I found one out of a 96 xj for $125. Will it work on my 93?

Should be fine. Make sure the spline count is the same on the input gear. It should be. Also get the shifter for it. It is different than the 242
