So i might get a dynomax muffler for the 1999. I saw one thing though. It has 2.5 inch inlet and exit pipes. Now stepping up from 2.25 to 2.5 inch into the muffler is no problem. Is there a problem stepping back down 2.5 to 2.25 to the stock piping after the muffler?

Wouldn't cause a problem. Will probably give you a nice sound

What effect would that have on the sound? Makes sense that it would have some sort of effect but just curious what the step down would do...

Might echo/rumble a little better since it steps up. you should really run 2.5" after the muffler to open things up and help it breathe better. if you wanted to stay at 2.25 after the muffler, I don't think it would be any more restrictive since the header is 2.25" as well.
