Not at all and didn't take the time to look at it closely enough. and I don't care enough about the new stuff to keep it all straight. Thanks for the correction

I remember reading about it. It would require major retooling since the fender wells need to be enlarged considerably. That means retooled interior etc. They said in the article I read not to count on it for that reason

yea, im sure it would need some mods to be trail worthy. I noticed bigger wheel wells in the article but I'm sure those 35s would massage a little metal if you pushed it

I am sure of that. I would be interested in seeing more articulation in the suspension. That might take some major retooling too

I still just can't get past the minivan styling. I like them trying to make them more capable but if they hadn't neutered the line up it wouldn't need it...

99% of them or any jeep for that matter, never leave the pavement. I'm the glad the Jeep brand is still around cause they didn't waste a bunch of money of live axles and parts that 99% will never use.

Now they SHOULD have an offroad option on EVERY model that put real cajones back under the rigs.

Might have mini van styling... But I still think it looks clean as all hell!! I think if I was to purchase a Grand Cherokee... I'd love to have one that looked like that, and even more so if I could get one with that engine option!!

Not many cars on the road that don't have the modern aerodynamic look.

I also think the angle of the first pic adds to problem

I don't know. I get what you're saying but I might have rathered them just letting it die a legend versus turning it into another extension of fiats international car brands where its more Europe than America. Jeep is loosing its identity. Somebody IS trying to keep it alive. Most notably the concepts we see rolling to moab and the wrangler and are extremely popular. But i'm just a nostalgic kinda person that thinks the past worked. The wj had a great ride, good offroad prowess (albeit a bit plumpy), and straight axles. Yes, independent is better on road but not worth the compromise in my opinion. Remember the XJ was one of the best selling jeeps ever, and had straight axles.

Like you say 99% won't see the road but almost all of those people wouldn't even notice the difference if it still had solid diffs.

Just my .02.

What about the Daimler years? WJs with Mercedes transmissions. Didnt the nut cutting start around the same time? I surprised the brands gone through as many changes as it has and still kept it's identity. It's debatable how much of its core is left....
