So I just bought my first jeep, a 1999 XJ! It's completely stock at the moment and I plan on funneling all my money to the jeep fund for the next few months.

For now, I want to get some mickey thompson rims (open to other suggestions but I really like the look of these!) and snow tires to get me up to Tahoe.

I plan on getting a 3" lift but not til after winter- but I want these wheels to be small enough to work on the stock suspension for now, but not so small that they look awkward with the lift in the future.

So basically I'm just wondering what size wheels I should be after (15x7? 15x8? something about back spacing? haha) and what's a solid snow tire to pair with it. I'm super new to the whole jeep game, and I don't know a whole lot about cars in general but I want to pimp this thing out so any advice would be rad! Thanks guys

Welcome Alexi. I live just north of you in Chico. I also used to live at Tahoe. There are many good snow tires out there now. Just look for the ones with the most sipes in them. the zig zag sipes are the best. The best snow tires I ever had were Michelins. But to answer your question on the rims, 15X8 is probably what you want. When you get your lift 31X10.50X15s work very nice with a three inch lift on an 8" rim

That will work. But be advised that a 16" tire is generally more expensive than a 15". Those look like they might be a winter only tire, better check that. If so, the rubber will be soft and not wear well
