That looks like my 231. It should have a number on that round red tag on the casing.

You don't have a slip yoke eliminator. If it is a 231 you should have 2 WD, part time, neutral and 4 lo., a 242 will have 2wd, part time 4wd, full time 4wd, neutral and 4lo on the trans. case shifter. There is also a listing for a NP207 for the 1987 model year but I don't know anything about those.
