My front driver door lock actuator is intermittent, Can it be swapped for my driver side passenger actuator?

If the actuator still clunks when you activate it,
but does not move the lock, see how stiff LOCK button by the door release handle is.
Many people change out the actuator and yes the new one has a bit more power,
but the stiff lock itself will eventually make the actuator fail.
I pull the locks themselves (not the actuators) from the door and rinse them out
with brake cleaner, let them dry and check to see how free the mechanism works.
If it is nice and free, I use an acid brush to reapply a light application of water proof lithium grease
(like boat axle grease) on all the pivot, wear points and recheck the function.
Reinstall the lock and see if the OLD actuator can motivate the lock.
If it does you saved money and made your lock more reliable.
If not, you can replace the actuator knowing it will work great for years to come!

Just my 2 cents worth...
