All - This weekend I decided to de-grease my engine bay. After I was finished I noticed a now clean hose apparently disconnected.

I have no idea what it is and the Jeep runs fine.

Can anyone ID this thing for me? Thanks in advance!

Where does the other end go?

It's the gray hose that leads down and into the firewall.

I think that is the vacuum hose for the valve on the heater hose. It shuts off the coolant to the core when it is in Max AC

Awesome, thanks - that's where I will look when I get home this evening!

I agree with Steve..

I found it amusing that where it goes is in your picture. Cheap thrills for small minds I guess..

Was thinking it looked like a vacuum of some sorts.... And see another person that has the level sensor disconnected on their washer reservoir!!

Yeah - I was pulling the underhood light to repair/replace it and saw that was disconnected so I plugged it back in.... and the low washer light came on. Unplugged.

Was it actually low?? Or just the sensor was messed up?? I'm guessing that is why they are usually disconnected is due to the sensor being off indicating it's low when it's really not...

It was about 1/4 full when I messed with it. I emptied what as left of a bottle of washer fluid in but it didn't even bring it up to half. Once I get some more fluid I will have to check.

I spied that they sell the sensors and that they're not terribly expensive.

So the mystery deepens. I cannot for the life of me find the place for that hose.

The valve may have been removed. Happens a lot

After going cross-eyed looking, that appears to be the case. What was the rationale behind removing the valve? Thoughts on getting a JY one or new one and putting it back?

They can get rusted and not function

After looking at the picture a little closer the valve is gone. They put a T with a cap to help bleed the system or flush the heater core and a straight hose to hose connector in place of the valve.
