my 96 has 2 temp senors. 1 at the thermostat for the gauge and 1 near the back of the engine for the computer. not sure if your 92 is like that too. but it's worth a look.

Now that I think about it.
I'm not sure what sensor runs what component.
The 1 in that back might run the gauge and the 1 on the T stat goes to the computer?? Sorry. to cause more confusion.
but I know there's 2

Probably faulty temp sensor, once you found blown fuse test with old temp sensor on tstat housing again

Check connector pins also, they maybe corroding

The '92 does have two sensors. You got right the second try nicky. Fan is controlled by the one at the thermostat.

Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.

Ok -thank you to all who responded-BUT-nice way puttin it- I'm frustrated at least---swapped relays-reinstalled old fan temp sensor-NO CHANGE-still throws in Code 35-just not gettin it-dont know if fan will come on at 220-230 range (cant get her to go much past 210) BUT fan DOES come on with a/c - there's a fox in the hen house somewhere - - HELP

Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator and make the temp go up that way to see if the efan will come on.

funny you should mention that-tried it earlier-shut a.c. off & she she'd crawl a lil over 210 and drop back without elec fan comin on-stil shows code 35 - think that when get paid wil buy an AR272-30-8740-773-4636 Relay -runs fine no problems-then there's the BUTshe's stil thrown a Code - if that dont do it one of friends suggested neutralizing /bleeding off power by goin thru a process disconnecting positive battery ground-lil perplexing-THANK YA'ALL!
