I've seen lots of DIY flares. Today, though, I saw the most frugal of them. On my way home from Indianapolis, I saw this on a 1-ton truck hauling a three car gooseneck trailer at the Flying J at Sullivan, MO. YES, it is a cut up trash can. Lol

I guess that's one way to stay "legal".
For a limited time only... the 32 gallon flat fender.

You know it might have looked/worked better if he had used more of the can and not the top where the funky edge is.

Whatever keeps the DOT guys off your back although with that you may attract more attention on to yourself.

Lol, i'd like to see the troopers face when he makes the corner in an inspection. :D Looks like he didn't spring for the one with clearance lights...

I know I sure wouldn't want to drive that thing past the window for a scale master to see!

I like it ... good temporary fix ..
Shoulda used a bigger bucket tho ... so stuff didnt get flicked off the wheel, rather than just providing a sunshade for the outside wheel .. :D

The edges are pretty torn. I'm not convinced that it didn't start out bigger and just get "road chewed" down to its current state
