Hello everybody, real name is Kenny and just got a 97 XJ Cherokee Sport, up country package with 232000 on the OD. This thing is really clean, no rust, very pampered and no off roading with it, I would know because I have worked on it enough. The past six months it has had new wheel bearings, sway bar bushings, track bar, rotors&pads, front shocks, HD front axle U joints, radiator, electric fan, steering damper, and last two years a few other things. I traded it for a 95 Honda Accord, good car but parts kinda expensive and I really wanted another toy.
My last Jeep was a 1980 full size Ckerokee, like a Wagoner I guess, it was a stripped down model with just rubber mats, no carpet I could tell it ever had, 6 cyl, I think it was a 258? Had a ton of fun with it and always wanted another Jeep, especially the XJ and now have one. Just need to put a exhaust manifold on it or weld this one up and it's good to go.
I live in SW Missouri and plan on hanging around here for a good while, it seems like a cool sight with a lot of good info.
First thing on the agenda for this XJ is fixing exhaust, fog light switch and cutting the hood or rear of the front fenders for some vented louvers, maybe something like on the late 70's early 80's Z-28 front fenders. Well, just rambling so again, Hi and hope to be around for a good while.
Have a good one

:welcome: to :xjtalk1: from Delaware!! I'd love to have a FSJ to build up... But yeah you'll defiantly enjoy the XJ.. They require quite a bit of work sometimes, unfortunately... but at least you seem to have a nice base to build off of...

Nice bit of history. The full size cherokee had to be fun no doubt. Always have been fond of those, among many of the older jeeps. Throw us some pics of your jeeps when you can.

Those vents would be cool.... no pun intended. :D
