A lot of us come to XJTalk first before buying on Amazon.... but if you are like me and are members of other forums and many Facebook groups do you come to XJTalk first before posting a link to a product in the forum/group?

I do... does it work? I don't know, I would imagine it would and it never hurts to try. This way the link it there for others to click on in the future to either buy the product you linked or if they continue shopping XJtalk should get credit for it.

If you aren't sure where to go to give XJtalk credit for your purchases on Amazon, there is an Amazon banner on the XJTalk.com home page (see image), click it and it will take you right to Amazon and automatically give XJtalk credit.

Yes it works. Several things I have bought for the Jeep have been featured on the Jeep Talk Show in the You Bought What segment

As have I, I wasn't questioning whether the link itself worked. But if I go to amazon, copy the link to an item and post it to a forum... if someone comes across it 6 months later... and clicks on it and buys something do "we" still get credit. Like I said I imagine we do...but....

It hasn't changed since I set it up, so that link should be good for as long as Amazon is working this deal.

I set up a link that might be easier to remember though.

http://xjtalk.com/amazon/

The idea was to add what we read on the show, but I haven't been keeping up with it.

I don't think I am making myself clear...

If I were to post this link for a lift kit (went to XJtalk link first).. Amazon.com: Rough Country - 623N2 - 4.5-inch Suspension Lift Kit with Premium N2.0 Series Shocks: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51vsPKvUZTL.@@AMEPARAM@@51vsPKvUZTL into another forum or FB group and someone finds it later and clicks on for the product, would we get the credit?

Example: Someone asking in an XJ FB group about a radiator for their XJ... I went to XJTalk, clicked amazon link, found the Radiator and copied the link for the radiator to his post in the group. If he or anyone else clicks on it and buys it, do we get credit?

I don't think it works that way. My understanding is that you have to access the site first through the link and buy within 24 hrs

I get what you're saying... That'd be awesome if that did work out... would certainly be sharing the link everywhere I could...

I think I'm starting to understand.

If you look at that page http://xjtalk.com/amazon you'll see a banner and then individual products. I created those through my Amazon affiliate page. So if someone clicks on those images xjtalk gets credit on that purchase and/or any other purchase that person makes on Amazon for the next 24 hours.

If you post an amazon link here or anywhere it doesn't have the special code in it that gives us credit.

So the answer to your question would be no, xjtalk would not get the credit. I don't think anyone would.

Now if you take that link you point to in your first post, and got them to click on it, any purchase they made at amazon for the next 24 hours, or until they clicked on someone else's banner, would be credited to xjtalk.

This is why I put anything I'm interested in to my wish list if it's a link to a specific item. Then come to xjtalk, click the Amazon link, and add it to the cart then. I think that would work.

Sent via messenger pigeon. I talk, he types.

So I modified http://xjtalk.com/amazon

It now takes you directly to Amazon. Any purchased made should be credited to :xjtalk: :D
