JCR led taillights 96 and down

ok so i got the kit from jcr and im doing the amber for the turn signal in stead of haveing a white reverse light (ihave other plans for that). i got the brake and running light working but the turn signal wont flash it gets bright but dosnt flash. i got a novita el12 elctronic flasher from amazon and with the stock lights it will flash but not the led's. im thinking it may be the wrong flasher but im not sure what one to use instead. and idea why it wont flash?

Yes, you have to have a different flasher. Are you still running incandescent bulbs in the front?

i think they are but i have led bulbs i can put in. i swapped to an elctronic flasher already but maybe the wrong one

Some of those LED kits have a resistor on them to make the flasher behave. You have those?

the kit from jcr dosnt and i think on the led bulbs that rnt in the front yet have a resistor on them. i did just find out that the turn signal only gets bright when turn signal is on and the headlights are on with the headlights off nothing.

Might have a grounding issue there. The way I understand LED signals, you either need the resistors on both ends or none

well up fron it the stock bulbs so no resistors. i checked with a test light to see if it would flash and it wont either. but the stock bulbs in the back flash fine.

Rear bulbs flash, but not front with OEM bulb? I think there is a ground problem up front. I had one too

honestly i cant be sure what bulbs are up front. ill check tomorrow and report back.

ok so got it mostly figured out. the front signal bulbs (not the front corner ones) were led switched them out and bingo normal flash. also found out that the flasher i installed dosnt work with leds so i ordered a new one that does a mix of both kinds of bulbs. now i am useing a rock light as back up lights and i wired them stright in to the old ones but they are now running lights not a back up and it flashes with the hazards. its almost like its wired as a turnsignal but it wont flash with the turn signals

so solved the last issue with the tail lights. stupid front pass. side headlight socket was shorting out on the bumper and back feeding power.

Sounds like something we could never sort out over the web. Just takes some sleuthing
