I've known a few folks that have run em and loved them. Said they were great if you need to pull the diff cover off a few times for any reason, and made it a far easier cleanup each time..

I just ordered up a set for my D30 and my 8.25 from one of our vendors JeepinOutfitter, who is offering that same seal cheaper then that on there on Ebay...

I have one for my Dana 30 and will be getting one for my rear diff as well the next time I change the fluid. It makes it a whole lot easier to change your gear oil rather than the RTV sealant which takes me forever to pry off the cover and scrape off all the old sealant.

To be honest though, if you don't plan on changing the gear oil more often than in the owner's manual, you might save some money and just buy a tube of RTV. When I was in Florida, pretty much every ride had some sort of deep water crossing at some point so the lube locker definitely came in handy for someone like me who is a little anal retentive about making sure all fluids are 100% free of contamination.

Well I'm working on my swap out. The horrible dana 35 is going and then Chrysler 8.25 is going in. I've been cleaning it up. The guy I bought it from used a drill with a wire brush and removed all the rust then primed it up, with new bearings and seals on both sides. All the gears look great. I will attach some pics.

I put two coats of engine paint then two coats of glossy laquer. Yes I kept the key parts taped up so they don't get paint on them.

That' a nice looking axle... Wish I had spare axles to build up w/ new shafts, U-joints, seals and regear... so I could clean em up like that and install em under my XJ... Like I said above... take a look at the sale JeepinOutfitters is doing on the LubeLocker seals... for the price, think it's worth a try!!

Thanks

$400 has been spent to get to this point on that axle. That Dana 35 was a piece of junk and has been grinding on and off for 12 years and I'm done with it. Install is next week. July 20th I think. When we switch the brakes over I am going to paint up the brakes and back plate and the cover. While it is off I might as well spray paint any bad spots and keep everything covered to prevent rust.

Especially since my son thinks we are heading to 300K then on to 400K. Sounds crazy but we are still going!!!!

We are at 230K and I will add another 40K before my son turns 16, or at least around his birthday. So 270K before he gets it which I am so proud of.

I paid $17,000 if you include interest for this jeep. $4500 in repairs and upgrades over the years. $21,500 total. / 14 years old or so. $1535 a year or $127 a month.

Out of that $4500 in repairs. $3500 has been on that horrible dana 35 axle.
