first time poster to the forum so please bear with me.

ive got a 2001 xj limited. its got heated electric leather seats. Heat doesnt work on the driver side but passenger side it works great, electric works okay for the driver, a little slow moving on the driver side compared to the passenger however the driver side is leather is tearing on the left side where I get in & out. I'd like to convert the electric seats to manual when I pull the driver seat out to repair the leather/vinyl side.

I think this is just a bolt in conversion.

Couldnt find any threads that detailed if this can be done or what to do. Is this possible? Any help on what parts I may need or a step-by-step thread would be great.

Thankks

I haven't actually done it, but it should just be a matter of removing the seat and unhooking the wire harness underneath and bolting in the manual one. Junk yards usually have a few decent seats and would be my first place to check

Id like to use the existing seats so I think i'll just need the hardware. prob just a bracket & rails mounted to floor & then some type of bracket to slide on rails mounted on the seat, im just guessing though. was going to check some JY tomorrow.

The factory made it simple to install both. They both use the same back and cushion. The back and bottom will unbolt from the electric frame and you can bolt the manual frame in its place. No mods or fab needed

I don't know of any. I have had them apart though. Closest thing to the 01 seat I have done is take them apart and install in a 99 TJ. The seats change over and vise versa. But I have changed over the earlier XJ seats. Same frame there too
