I have D30 Aussie Locker front/Chrysler 8.25 Richmond Gear Lock right in rear, I can tell you they work great together, but driving on pavement in 4wd is a chore, not that you should, but I just regear ed to 4.56 to accommodate my 33's and it likes to pull hard in 4wd. Offroad, they are wonderful for me!

I have had my Lokka rear locker for 3 years now, wheeled in rocks and no problems. I have had the one in the front for a year and a half. No problems. The only adverse thing wheeling is turning sharp down hill. You cannot turn as sharp say on a switchback. Doesn't do that uphill though.

That's great. I love my lockers. Makes the Jeep basically a point and shoot kind of situation all the time. But beware. You will still need to air down on sand or you can get stuck worse than without the lockers

I don't think so. They only list the 27 spline for that year anyway

ok i have a question, ive seen a bunch of vids where ppl with XJ's put lockers only in the front axle, whats the reason for that?

Lots of people say that it's better to be locked front first then rear. Personal opinions. Front is usually cheaper too. I say lock whichever axle is stronger first. I'm locked front with posi rear.

I would see the back being cheaper since it is usually better not to have the front locked all the time since it can make it hard to turn so a selectable locker up front would better.

Or like most people, myself included, a lunchbox front

It really depends on the type of wheeling you do. And the pitch of the terrain. If you wheel flat ground with mud, a front locker first can be a benefit. Or if you want to do poser shots with your front on something, the front is good. But if you are going up hill, the amount of traction the front locker will give you gets less the more the angle increases. The rear locker will push the front over an obstacle and help the rear get over it much better. A rear locker going uphill is worth ten times the front

I like the front first because the driving characteristics are similar to stock for street use since no torque is being applied.
