Hi ReverendOD, :welcome: to the :xjtalk: forum!

We would love to know more about you and your Jeep. How you found us, etc...

Be sure and check out our XJ TALK SHOW! (http://podcasts.xjtalk.com) It\'s about Cherokees! It\'s like a radio talk show, but from the Internet.

Check out our sister sites, http://www.WranglerTalk.com/ and http://www.di-dah-dit.com/

Hey everybody.... I came across the XJTALK show in Youtube while doing some searching and enjoyed the show so figured I would hop on the Forums.

I have a 2001 XJ with 210k+ miles. I bought it in 2011 with 117k on the clock and it promptly cracked the head around 125k. I popped on a new head from Clearwater Cylinder Heads and was back on the road. It was never the same after that, the coolant took a toll on the bearings but its survived another 100k with 3psi oil pressure at hot idle and a horrible tick/knock.

Now I have a new DD so its time to get serious with the XJ. Needs a lift, tires, and mods to make it trail ready. Looking to build an Expedition Vehicle, alredy have a 4x6 con-fer rack on top I got for a steal locally. Let the modding begin...

Welcome Shawn. Overlanding is great. After I get done with the build, which has gone on for years, I will set up for overlanding. Takes too long to set up all the camping stuff we have

Nice jeep, and great color! ;) Sure would like to find one like that for oh, about $500. Cheaper is fine too. So, I'll keep dreaming and you get to building. :p What's the jeep got in its future, modification wise?

Sent via messenger pigeon. I talk, he types.

Trying to locate a short block to rebuild first off. Need to get it running reliably. Then its going to a get a 3" lift, 31" tires and a bit of trimming, swaybar disconnects, rear disc brake coversion, and some sort of front recover points. It needs a new headliner, as well as some interior work, going to rip the storage area carpet and do some built in storage back there to hold essentials.

We love traveling and camping so I want to get it set up where we can haul off road and camp in some remote areas but need it to be safe enough to haul the family in.
