So I stopped at a red light downtown yesterday, while I'm waiting I look to my right and see a family of Canadian geese and figured I'd snap a pic for my wife, I do so then stuff my phone back in my pocket and look to my left right into the face of a cop in his ghost truck! And of course he motions for me to pull over!

Whoops! $300 ticket!

I know better than to play with my phone while driving, but I guess some of us have to learn the hard way!

:bang: Even though you were stopped?!

Sent via messenger pigeon. I talk, he types.

Yup that's the law up here, stopped at a light is still driving, I get it, lots of people stop at the light, play with their phone, then the light goes green, and they take off without looking, into a car or pedestrian.

I would fight it... Get your wife to confess her undying and out of control obsession with geese, and enter the pic with a date/time stamp on it as evidence... you were only doing your duty as a good husband...a regular pillar of the community.... salt of the earth kind of guy.... he's GOT to dismiss the ticket!
But in all seriousness, even appearing in front of the judge/magistrate/whatever and explaining your side, even without contest... SHOULD drop the fine by half.... or so.

That's true. The stuff you see on the road these days. I'm surprised we haven't lost a good percentage of the population in "accidents".

That stinks to see happen.... I get it with what can happen out of a red light when not paying attention... sorry to hear about the fine though... Hope the judge will cut you a break.. if not hope it won't hurt Mort's timeframe!!

I'm shocked by the fact that in Canada they're called Canadian geese. Wouldn't you just call them geese or maybe "OUR GEESE".
Down here we call em Canadian geese because, well they come from Canada.
and don't get me started on the whole Canadian bacon thing.

Tough break Pook.

... good to see that the mounties enforce the, no phone while driving, rule tho.

Maybe a few of 'em could migrate down this way with the geese :D ... and show our coppers - how to enforce the same rule.

I guess Morts tyres will have a lot of feathers, stuck in the treads from now on ??? .. ;);)
