thanks for the welcome MR auto-welcome.

I'm actually searching for an XJ in the central/southern OK/central Texas area.

Hey Aaron welcome from OKC.

You might check out some of the local Jeep FB groups.
Red Dirt Jeeps
Elite Jeep
Oklahoma Jeepers
405 Jeeps

You might check the "Oklahoma Jeep and Jeep parts for sale" group as well.

Where abouts in Oklahoma are you?

thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions. I'll go ahead and join those groups when I get home. Surely someone's got something (tired of trolling craigslist every day looking for a decent XJ.)

As for where in OK - I'm down in Duncan. Lived here for about 2 years after being hired as a mechanical engineer for Big Red. Originally from northeast missouri.

There are a handful of members of Red Dirt Jeeps down that way as well.

yea, we've been lucky to have missed most of the bad stuff. We could honestly still use some more rain - the lake levels are still at drought levels.

I saw that the OKC airport had something like 8 inches in 24 hours the other day. If only we could get that down here I may be able to wash my car again..

(due to water restrictions and the drought, they've banned washing your car at home - you have to go to a car-wash, and only tues-sat 7a-7p).

Well, the search continues - I missed a really sweet one down in the Dallas area on Sunday (darn banks being closed). I also passed on one yesterday. was a 99 5 sp with 220K - had it not been for the weird "volt gauge goes to zero" while I was driving it - it probably would have came home with me. I would have had to replace the radiator, a leaky freeze plug, and the wind-shield (as well as a few other small maintenance items) but I was afraid it wouldn't even make it the 2 hours home.

I plan on going about 4 hours this weekend to look at a 99 auto in Miami OK - 4.5" lift, 32's, nice and clean and straight. 175K on the meter. I'm hoping it's as good in person as in the pictures. I'll probably be swapping the 35's for 32's and dropping the lift to 4", but who knows - I may like the big thing! Only time will tell.
