I'm trading for these massive 1 ton axles this weekend. What say xjtalk about swapping in full width axles?

Full width axles oh yeah. I am working towards that myself. But all that weight, I am not a fan of that. One thing you need to do is make sure you have enough spring weight to operate the axle downward and overcome the momentum required to do that on rough terrain. I realize a trade is a good deal, just saying I prefer lighter axles such as the front D44 and rear 9" from a Ford pick up in a light rig lick an XJ unless you are a slow motion dedicated rock crawler and want the lower center of gravity they will give you

I wish I had went to one tons in my old race Jeep over the 9" and D44 but I am bad to parts

Seems like a pretty decent trade.. especially for 1 tons.. Would be an even sweeter deal if they were already prepped for install under an XJ... I'm thinking about trying to see what kind of deal I could find on some Waggy 44's, or the Ford 44.9 setup...

I think one tons are great. As long as you go up in tire size enough to get back the ground clearance lost from those big diffs. But with the full width track you can go higher without it feeling top heavy.

That's what I was thinking. I mostly don't want to build up the Dana 30 and 8.25 and still not have them hold up. I've done a few things twice on my Jeep and don't want to keep doing that
