I'm thinking I've never changed the rotors on the 99 before. I'm pretty sure I've done the pads but maybe not. That's the problem with multiple XJ's they blend in your memory. :P
Apparently they changed rotors and wheel bearing assemblies mid 1999.
Saw this over on NAXJA.
Post says left is mid-1999-2001 and right is 1990 - mid 1999

I think this is the one on the right in the first picture. 1990 - mid 1999.
Problem is the new rotor is different that the one that was on there.
Based on what I read it seems I have the right rotor (NEW) and wrong (OLD).
I really don't see a big difference except the pads ride in a different spot and there is more thread on the lug studs for the lug nuts to grab on to.

Oh and what do you think about this wear? Time for a new caliper?
