Ax-15 upgrades

so with Mort off the road for a while I am planning on fixing a few things that have been neglected for a while.

The Ax-15 that is in Mort is his Original transmission with 250,000KM. I have been researching parts and will go with the master rebuild kit, but I havent came accross to many upgrades for it, I know there is a 1st Gear upgrade to 4.3 ratio from 3.8, that sounds like fun.

also there is a front bearing plate upgrade, what other upgrades are there, has anyone done them???

what about upgrading 5th gear get a little better power on the highway???

the ax-15 gear ratios are: 3.83/2.33/1.44/1.00/0.79
the R151 gear ratios are : 4.31/3.32/1.52/1.00/0.83


they are basically the same tranny, can I just swap in the R151??

Looks like I got bad info about the ratios, it's just first gear that's different

Even so, it is a nice upgrade for that tranny. I do think though that the rear pattern will be Toyota specific. Advance Adapters may have an adapter to the 6 bolt circle for their atlas cases
