View Full Version : 84-01 XJ A-pillar Light Mounting Brackets

XJ Wheeler

Now offering A-pillar light mounting brackets for 84-01 XJ!

The kit includes 2 brackets, 4 TEK screws, and instructions. The brackets are made of 1/8" steel, press broken and come primer coated. Each bracket is secured to the backside of the a-pillar with 2 TEK self tapping screws. The brackets are theft resistant by having the mounting screws behind the door frame, that is, unless you are running doorless or half doors. The only modification necessary is drilling the a-pillar for the mounting screws and very minor cutting and bending for the 97-01 XJs. The light mounting holes measure 7/16" to accomodate most offroad, single post lights.

They are $40 shipped to any of the continental 48 states. I can check to see how much it would be to ship elsewhere.

You can contact me directly or go to the FB page i started.

So if my math is right, they are same price with free shipping? I noticed the RC's are welded, these are bent. Cleaner look to me.

Jakes are much nicer looking and have much better lines. Jake, you need to become an Amazon vendor

Agreed.. I have seen in person a set of the RC ones, Detours and Jakes.. Jakes are by far the best looking ones of the three IMHO, and Detours is a close second.. I would have already installed the Detours ones that I have, but I like the look and the mounting method of Jakes far better.. Already trimmed the necessary small piece on my 97 to install his and primed the spot I trimmed while it was still warm out.. Now I just got to get switch panel on order so I can run all the necessary wires for the pods I plan on installing on them... Just been so busy with work, and randomly not being in the country, to get it all run... and now the weather is getting colder... so got to get the wires run for these pods as well as my one bar that'll be on my bumper, before the weather turns too cold, and I wish I had them installed for use... Not to mention Jakes customer service is far better than any I've received from RC (which I've apparently been able to get far more from RC then most)...

Lol, I know. Right now mine are the same price but are typically $10 more. But being a one man, small operation I don't get the big discounts on materials, hardware, etc and I don't have the big expensive tools that make fabricating easy. :D So, I can't go that low. But I feel mine are a better product and hopefully people will see that and feel it's worth the added cost.

Thanks for the props guys!

Steve (4.3), I need to look into that. I'm gonna be up on ebay soon (hopefully) and that alone will make it nice. Just for advertising if anything.

I think it's great you posted it. I'm sure you weren't the only one that saw it and thought $30 vs. $40 that's easy. This way jake's gets to answer those questions.

Got my XJ prepped and ready to install my mounts finally, and got the cubes to put on em... just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can run the wires for the lights.. Not a huge fan of having the mounts or the cubes installed, just for the looks, without them being wired up.. I will certainly say that I look forward to seeing them full installed w/ the cubes.. since I've put them in once after doing the prep work, and loved how they looked, just the brackets alone...

Yeah the cold definitely sucks for sure... Can't wait to ge back down to SC... it's still chilly, but at least bearable... Heck, I've bought just about any kind of heater I can get to put in my garage, next to going industrial... and have gotten it somewhat bearable.. but still not all that warm... so still makes it hard to really get working on it...

I've never had a garage but it sounds near mandatory up there. Although in the summer here it gets pretty bad, and keeps you inside more. I'd probably rather the cold, at least you guys get snow. [emoji14]
