Does anyone here keep a journal / log book on their Xj?

I realized recently that I have such a mish-mash of parts on both my Xj and my crawler that I should keep records of what is what (part numbers etc.). Does anyone else keep such a journal about their jeep?

Post up some of the unusual parts you've used, this could get fun.

Example, on my 96' XJ I have an '88 front axle with '96 wheel bearings and brake rotors using '88 brake calipers.

The crawler???? That would take up to much server space to post!:D

Nah, I just keep the list in my head. Not part numbers, but where everything came from

After i bought my Jeep i found a notepad with a nearly complete history in the center console. Every oil change, headlight bulb, spark plugs... Pretty crazy. There are a couple gaps of course, but it's pretty much complete.

I keep a log book for mileage reasons. Noted in the book is mileage, gallons filled, and the date. Notes of component replacement and any MIL codes are also in my book.

I keep a written log on each vehicle. I don't know how anyone could remember when they changed the plugs or rotated the tires without it. I also keep a general info book on part #'s and where someone might have gotten something.

Not that it is important now, but the first gas I put in my brand new 78 Bronco cost 57.9cents a gallon(leaded) Yes , my Bronco's filler cap can take leaded gas.

Yep, got a couple journals for mine. Each year I pull out a new notepad. I usually end up filling up about 2/3s of it by years end. And you guessed it, i'm about six months behind.

I have a note pad somewhere of all the parts I pulled from the junkyard. my goal is to have at least one part from every year xj. The only non xj part I have is the s10 leafspring bastard pack and i'm not too sure about my overhead console I grabbed at a swap meet.
