My engine mounts broke on passenger side drove it home. Fixed it nothing seemed wrong trany also no problems week after it starts to idle high roughly 150/175 rpm in park and neutral. But when in drive it idles 750 barly 1000 rpm. Now doesnt have an idle problem but as soon as i give it gas it stutters like its about to stall. And when up to speed and rpm starts to drop when it drips to about 175 it stutters again. Its a 96 classic 4.0 high output auto with 390k on it

Sounds to me like TPS, throttle position sensor. Possibly CPS, Crank position sensor.

TPS is bolt on to the throttle body, CPS is near the top of the bellhousing(drivers side) where it bolts to the block

EDIT: Dont click the link placed on "crank position sensor" its not an actual link.
