View Full Version : 1988 Cherokee air intakes?

Hey guy I've been looking for a nice cold air intake I cant find any for later models I would think it would be the same as a 91 but I'm not sure. Thanks guys! I was looking at this http://www.jeep4x4center.com/high-performance-air-intake-4-0l-k-n-kn-571519.html

I think the only reason why one from a 91+ won't work with the 90- XJ's is because the 90- have the intake that screws onto the TB w/ three screws.. I'm sure you could get a small piece of exhaust pipe or something from AZ and a clamp and join the stock pipe after cutting it to the 91+CAI setup and make your own.. but that's about the only way I can think of doing that, unless you want to go into quite a bit of fabbing work...

Too much money. I fabbed my own at a fraction of the cost:

Somewhat crude but very effective.

Nice man! Thank both of for your help I'm probably gonna try to just fab one up I was just looking into them and was wondering why it says it wouldn't fit.

Yeah like if you look at this picture.. you can see the two of the three bolts at the bottom of the picture on the flange that would connect this intake to your 90- TB.. http://www.quadratec.com/Assets/Images/142968/142968-lg.jpg

I would say if your TB doesn't seem to have a flange (which I have seen some 90's that do have the standard type TB that could have a tube w/ clamp installed) then you could pick up the intake you were looking at.. or build your own fairly easily..
