Today when I got out of the jeep. I noticed a burnt oil smell. So I popped the hood to inspect. It was almost 2 qts low.. which is unusual it never uses any oil.

I found a lot of oil on my oil filter and starter. I checked to see if the oil filter was on tight. it was. I didn't see any oil on the block adapter. I was stumped. So I cleaned it up, fired it up and this is what I found.

It's leaking from the the electrical connection on the oil sending switch.

That seems like a very odd location for the oil to be leaking from... I would think if you replace the oil pressure sensor should take care of that odd leak...

Actually james thats a common flaw on a chrysler product. Ex wifes mini van blew it completly off and she ignored the oil light. Pumped all the oil out. I could follow the trail of oil for the 8 miles it took to do it. Nickyg you are lucky you found it dude that could have gotten exspensive

Yup common occurrence. But since it is in the weird department, put a tin foil hat on it. :D

I followed my trail out today.
I've had to replace the pressure switch before. I dropped the oil filter on it and snapped it off.
This was the first time I ever seen one leak like this. I'll defiantly add it to my maintenance list.

Update:
29.99 from oriley's and my jeep is happy again.
I'm shocked at how much oil I lost fast. (2 quarts in about 36 miles)http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/03/aa514a988315344dcf8e260099778c98.jpg
