Noob Question #2. We are working on installing a lift on our '97 project XJ. Started trying to remove the upper track bar nut and the bolts on the upper and lower control arms. We have soaked in PB Blaster but cannot get them to budge. (even stripped a bolt head on the lower control arm). Are these possibly being held on by loctite from the factory?

Don't have a torch yet, but we can get one and we are doing all this with hand tools. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance for any help or direction that you might be able to provide. Thanks again.

I use a plumbers torch for things like this. It's still fire so it requires vigilance so you don't burn the jeep down. It's cheap to purchase and you can find lots of uses for it once you own it.

At last resort you may have to use a sawzall or grinder to take the head off the bolts then punch them out. Try heat first!!

Use Mapp gas instead of Propane. Little extra heat from the acetylene.

You should be able to find the canisters locally.
