Hey folks.

So, my XJ is born and raised in Chicago IL. So you can imagine I have rockers or I should say had rockers.
I have the ability to make some rockers but would prefer to buy some. I am thinking of incorporating skid plates or sliders into the rocker.

Any advice of where I could start? I thought these would be easier to find.

First off welcome to the forum.

There are some aftermarket places that do it however they require that you drop the vehicle off and they install them. I have not found anyone that sells aftermarket parts (that I'm aware of).

I'm a Minnesota jeeper so I know your pain. I shopped body shops for a few months and after getting quotes around $2000 I decided to do it on my own. I will post a link to my build thread that has photos and some explaining in it and if you have any questions feel free to pm me or post back here, I'd be happy to help you out.

If you have the equipment and ability to make your own, I'd go that route. You'll save so much more money that way. I've seen people incorporate sliders into their rocker replacement before too.... OneArmArrowSlinger made his and they double as sliders as well. http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?t=16793&page=2

Yep, if you're going through the work why not upgrade! Some 2x6 rectangular tubing in place will not only strengthen the area but take a whole lot longer to rust through again. ;)
