I had one on my old xj, built it myself out of two old steel hoods, worked good but in the winter going through a stream the steem created by the hot engine would dig up the windshield for a short while, no biggie.

This time around I went this route. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/18/f03f47be56989060047aeac82b82dfc0.jpg

Ya a lot of cooling but now all the heat rises, over heard the intake and fuel rail, had to wrap them to keep temps down.

1980 Chrysler Labaron turbocharged model has the popular vent for XJ's, In fact they were very inexpensive until they got known for working well on XJ's

I wish they still made the" Reflexion cowl hood." Nice looking hood.

il have to post a pic. when at my dads in arkansas. there were several army green wooden crates in the woods with metal bracing and metal vents bolted on. they had german all over the boxes etched on.
when i get home il take a few pictures.
almost same size as what i cut into the hood. im going to cut it out and spot weld one of these on.

IMHO if you are looking to lower your engine temp it won't do any good. If you are going for looks thay look neat. I have come to the conclution that a 4.0 is going to run at 210 no matter how many vents you in the hood.

On my TJ with a 4.0 hood vents

and fender vents

It still runs 210 no matter if it's 30 or 100 out side
