So, our little youtube channel was received really well here on XJTalk. I guess that means I'll start a thread about us and what were doing.

Thanks we have really been putting a lot of time into our channel lately and its all been worth it. The video i just post was about 8 months of filming and editing that my partner put his heart and soul into. Needless to say we're very pleased with the results.

Kevin was working with andy Carter at Ironman4x4fab, and was smart enough to film the entire process of his cage being built.

Very cool! I actually just found and caught up on all the videos. Its awesome when people put the time in to get info out. If nobody does it, we won't know what the next thing keeping us broke will be.

New video is out. We had some questions on our Ford 8.8s. Even though the subject is well beat to death on the forums, we decided to give a quick breakdown why we did it.

Sorry folks. No WJ swap video this weekend. My Jeep still isn't finished getting the cage installed, but as soon is she is back from the shop we will get back to work!

To help pass the time here is a picture of my first drive with my XJ 2wd in Johnson Valley CA.

So, as soon as we opened the box on this thing we knew we had to do a proof of concept video. We were blown away at how easy to fly it was and the stability of the video.

So, we apologize for not putting out the WJ video as fast as we though we were going to. We were busy making a roll-cage for the race Jeep. Kevin is finishing editing the WJ knuckle video as we speak, but till then here is visual proof we were busy.

Ladies and Gentleman, boys and girls. I think it's time you upgrade your brakes. I mean why not? All the cool kids are doing it. Regardless you should check out our video. You might laugh or you might not, big whoop. Regardless you might go deaf from the intro being so damn loud, but thats okay. We still love you! Is there anything that XJtalk wants to see a video done on? Our next video should be about both of our rigs, the race team, and who we are. However, we are always open to suggestions and criticism.

:keegirl: I think some that people would be interested in would be:

Clocking The Transfer Case
Transfer Case Swap (from a 242 to a 231 / etc...)
Rear Disk Brake Upgrade
Brake Booster Upgrade/ Proportioning Valve Swap
Rocker Replacement
Thru The Floor Rear Shock Hoops
...And one that I think would be in great demand by many first time Jeepers.... "What to do when your rear shock mount bolts break"

Some of these are delving into the realm of fabrication, but I think would still be vids that people would be interested in seeing, or enjoy watching if nothing else.

As always, you guys are doing some great work... you have really stepped up your game in the last couple vids, and the pride you guys are taking in what you're doing really shows. Keep up the great work!

We have the foam cover for the shot-gun mic, and what is called the "dead cat." It really was just that windy. Our luck.

You know one thing I have been contemplating is doing a WJ disc swap, which is much more braking power than the ZJ. I haven't taken one apart yet, but it looks like there is a plate that bolts to the housing that acts as a bracket for the caliper. Kind of like the ZJ. Anyway, I think with a little re drilling of the rotor and you could do it. I haven't researched it yet, but I have a wrecked WJ here to fool with

The rear brakes? I know you did one for the front brakes

NeverSmashaPaul
04-08-2015, 09:57 PM
Oh I don't know about rear brakes to swap over. With the Dana 44A and all. Maybe the Dana 35 version, but I think all my XJ friends have ditched the 35 round here. I'll have to hunt for an ookie.

4.3LXJ
04-08-2015, 09:59 PM
Since I have a turdy five still, and hanging together I thought about doing a full brake swap. The bolt pattern on the plate is the same for the 35 and 44. I was wondering if the 44A might be the same too. Just a thought. But if it turns out to be an easy swap, it would be good for many XJs. And I suppose with a little creative drilling maybe the 8.25

I'll have to ask a friend. I have plenty with WJs.

Just crawled under the WJ. The bolt pattern is rotated 90° from earlier Dana patterns. But I will investigate sometime in the future to see if it can be done easily. I think it would be an awesome upgrade to have balanced updated brakes

Another video. This is nothing informative, but simply a recap of sorts of the Uwharrie National Forrest OHV Jamboree in North Carolina. Enjoy.
