XJ seats aren't big boy friendly.

At 6'3" and 265 pounds it didn't take me long to trash what was already a busted seat frame on my drivers seat. Picked up a seat a seat out of a 96' at the junk yard on my lunch break and started the repairs and parts swap last night. Hit the "new" frame with a wire wheel, primer and a fresh coat of paint. Installed washers on all four bolts that join the frame to the seat sliders to help distribute the load on the thin sheet metal of the frame and man what a difference! It didn't help that my old seat frame was broken in three spots but this has been the best $30 I've spent lately.

Pretty sure mine is busted in the same spot... as I've seen that this seems to be a common issue.. Going to swap in my "spare" gray driver seat, to hopefully get rid of the gansta lean.. as it is annoying when driving... Figure I'll end up looking at picking up some ZJ seats if I can source some in good shape from the JY..

I'd love to hit up a place with good yards... We have two and they don't have much... and what they do have they charge a pretty penny for... especially if it's for a Jeep.... Wouldn't mind doing the WJ seats.. but have heard they take quite a bit of work over the manual ZJ seats...

I'm not a fan of the WJ seats which is why I never upgraded to those. Junk Yards around here have plenty to choose from in regards to XJ's and WJ's and they're fairly priced. I have one more JY on the other side of town I want to hit but it's tricky with my schedule and I can't bring my son with me.
