94 xj 4.0 auto 4x4

This am i took the xj out. Noticed it was grabbing hard on the front rotors.
I recently cleaned and adjusted the rear shoes and had no issues til today.
Lots of blowing snow and snow yesterday and below zero temps have an effect. Never experienced this with other rear drum vehicles before. New hardware shoes and cylinders installed in april of 2014.
No leaks at all could it just be the cold?

Cleaned? A small amount of liquid in brake shoes will cause them to grab. Get them good and warm and it will probably go away

Yeah cleaned mud and dust from them. And old brake fluid from when the cylinders were changed.

Shoes damp with brake fluid is a classic grabbing situation

Just took it out again. Roads were alot cleaner and grabbing ceased. It stopped nose diving. I got it in the garage again and all 6 burners on my grill going in there. 4 degrees makes me nervous with breakage

Once the brakes are good and warm the problem should go away if all leaks are fixed

No leaks and dry as a bone.

mine used to jerk backward coming to complete stop. squeaked loud when it's wet. done a cheap upgrade (trip to the junk yard). went with zj rear disc swap. no more nose diving or jerk backward after. cheap upgrade.

I know with my classics it wasnt an easy per say job to rear disc swap. Got a parts list as i would LOVE to 4 corner disc it. Mine did it again last night. Popped in reverse and it adjusted out after a few hard brakes in reverse. I think the wheel cylinder might be sticking but need a warm weather break to get out there. I have this terrible fear of breaking hardware in cold temps.

I know if you find a liberty with rear disc its a direct bolt on.will have to buy an e brake cable though.

I know the first gen libertys and that is for the 8.25 rear axle the zj will work but i belive you have to do some drilling on the backing plate brackets where the liberty is supposed to be direct swap. Im looking to do this also
