I guess I've had this account for about a year now…and this would be my first post.
I've pretty much grown up in the XJ and ZJ platforms. My mom got a 92 XJ when I was 3 or 4. Dad had a several ZJs in the 90's. My grandmother had a 96 XJ…and when I was in high school I ended up with a 99 XJ. It's not a DD…it could be…but it's always been there when I needed something else to drive.
When I got it had a poorly installed Rubricon Express lift (AAL on flat springs, we all know how long that lasted and then the previous owner installed 2" blocks in the rear), Dynomax exhaust, Safari snorkel, some overpriced Prerunner bolt on guard, OME shocks, LT245/70-16 Wrangler MT/Rs, Rusty's engine/tranny skid and a Yakima basket (fully populated with a 7 kip HiLift, shovel, pair of KC Daylites, two pair of KC Slimlites, spare tire carrier).
First came the JCR Offroad stage 1 kit (they've since changed their bumper styles) with sliders, then I built a gas skid, added some trailer wiring and didn't really touch it for a few years. After installing a Lock-Right locker in my old F150 (and putting 30,000 miles on that truck in the following 8 months) I decided to go with an Aussie for the rear end and then I left it for awhile. Blew the tops off the rear shocks coming down US50 on day, then decided to order new springs from Rubricon Express (improved the ride quality substantially), new rear shocks (went with Bilstiens) and then decided it was time to bring my XJ into 2013. Began my push to convert entirely to LED lighting (almost done) with LED tail light housings from JCR Offroad, then built a tire carrier for the rear bumper, pulled the rack, a LED bar replaced the KC's on the front bumper, and installed some H4 headlight housings and LED bulbs.

I'm still wanting to add an Aussie to the front, however I'm waiting as the R&P in the rear is showing some signs of wear and I'm looking at upgrading the 3.55's to 3.90's. Adding another 1.5" in the form of shackles to the rear (the parts are at my dad's and he's headed up to Colorado after Christmas and will put those on while he's up there). After that and some more radio equipment, I think I'll be done for a few years.
