Or should I say lack of it. One of the things we enjoy with our XJs is the light weight unibody. A well prepared XJ weighs in about 4000# and is relatively cheap to modify to get there.

Compare this H1 in off road capability. This is a very expensive vehicle. It has a big sticker price, 6.5" lift, not very flexible and has a body lift. Tires are 42s I believe.

Notice that even with the larger tires and front and rear lockers this very capable vehicle that is going to run 80K if bought and modified new, which I think it was, is having a little difficulty with this rock shelf.

Not to toot my horn here, but consider my XJ with an 8" lift and lunchbox lockers. Granted I was using the 3.8:1 range in my transfer case in this vid, but the 2.7 range would have worked well too. And I am still running those short 31" tires.

So what is the difference? About 4,000# and $70K. The weight advantage of the XJ can make it a much more capable off road vehicle than a heavier vehicle like this, or a heavy pickup etc. I am still looking for a way to mount a .50 cal on the top though

31s look a lot smaller with 8" of lift ! I thought my 31s with 3" lift looked biggish. :D
I have to agree on weight. I trailed a wee 1L Suzuki when I lived in NI, I was clearing sections fully modded 4L land rovers where getting stuck on.
That made me VERY happy. :D :D :D

Yes they do. But until I upgrade my axles, that is as big as it gets now for wheeling that kind of stuff
