I don't know if there are any WWII or military buffs here.... but I saw a show on the Candy Bomber last night and thought it was interesting and something I had not heard before.

Gail Halverson risked his life and his career to drop candy from his airplane to the children of Berlin that had very little after the war but it showed them that we cared.

Must be a sign that I am getting old... I seem to spend a lot of time watching shows on PBS. :rolleyes:

I love history, and part of that interest is military/war history. That is a really cool story. Amidst the rigors of war, a slice of humanity. Thanks Jon!

I hadn't heard of that, but I am not surprised to hear it. There is stuff like that popping up now and then.
