I need some suggestions for tires. 2001 xj,16x7 jeep alloys.I do alot of highway, and I'm in the mud and snow with my work. Whats a good riding, good traction tire that's resonably priced? I appreciate all responses.

I have the BFG TA/KO and have been very happy with them both on and off road. Got a set of 4 for ~$700 but I have a 15'' rim. I think usually the 16'' are more expensive for some reason.

16's are leveling out a bit. Depending on the mix of snow vs mud and everything else.

if snow is 50% or more of what you drive in, i'd look for something with a bit more siping and closer tread gaps. Falken Rocky Mtn comes to mind, although the duratracs do pretty well in snow from what I've read. those kumhos look good too!

Check out the Goodyear Wrangler Authority. Very similar tread to the duratrac, but much cheaper. They performed awesome in some really greasy mud this year on the elk hunt, I couldn't get stuck! They ride really smooth on the highway with hardly any noise. Really you can't even here them over wind noise. I still need it to snow so I can try that out, but I've heard great things about them in snow. I haven't had them long but they have great reviews on tread wear and life of the tire. Only thing is they are only sold from walmart.

That's right. I think they are worthy of fm respect, but I'm probably a little biased too... :)

I will look at those at walmart. Can't decide yet. Lots of good choices.
