Hi fellow XJ owners!

I have been following and interacting with the @XJTalk guys on Twitter for a few months now, and figured it was high time to join the forum. I just saw the thread about making a weldless rack out of emt, and I knew this was a good bunch of people and a place I wanted to be a part of.

A little about me, I have always wanted a green Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows, and talked my friends ears off for at least the last 10 years. Never had the cash to go get one and they had already stopped making them in 2001 so I couldnt just go to a dealership and get a new one, so I drove my Toyota until it had 211,000 miles on it and earlier this year found a 1 owner, no accidents 2001 XJ Limited w/ 143,000 on it from a lady on craigstlist in Pennsylvania, took an Amtrak from Springfield MA, paid cash and drove my Jeep home.

She passed inspection, I fixed a couple minor things that needed doing, and I couldn't be happier because I finally own my dream vehicle. She's my daily driver so I cant get crazy and put 35's on it and a 6.5" long arm kit, but I am toying around with the idea of at least getting a 2 inch budget boost with longer shackles and pucks for the front springs, and longer shocks for a comfy ride.

Here's a photo of my baby:

Thanks for reading and I have to say, it's really cool that each new member gets a personalized welcome, I'm on some other forums and have never seen that before, very nice touch.

See you on the forum!

:welcome: to :xjtalk1: from Delaware!! I DD my 98 XJ w/ 7" of lift and 33's for four years... so don't sell yourself short if the higher altitude is what you really want for her... I will say the XJ's are quite capable vehicles in their own rights in stock form, and doing a BB and some decent treaded tires make em even more fun in semi stock form... I might shortly have a pretty much brand new BB setup minus the shocks available in the very near future once I go to the 6.5" LA lift setup I'm currently putting together and some 33's, if you are interested..

Welcome to the site bud. Congrats on getting your dream jeep. Its an exciting time when ya do. So, I know you're mind is running wild with ideas, mine would. It looks like a really nice one. A creampuff even. :D James isn't wrong, at least a bit higher is quite manageable. At 4.5" you don't have to get into things like steering and gain a good bit of height. But it is your jeep so just do your research and make the decision that suits you best. Let us know if you need any help and please do post up what you do with it.
